Man charged with barking at police dog, The Lost Keys

  • *Fact* Parrots, most famous of all talking birds, rarely acquire a vocabulary of more than twenty words. However, Tymhoney Greys and African Greys have been known to carry vocabularies in excess of 100 words.
  • *Quote* "A cat has absolute emotional honesty; human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not." --Ernest Hemingway

Mich. - A 26-year-old Michigan man was  arrested for allegedly barking at a police dog, authorities  said. The Three Rivers Police Department said in the statement that, Anija, a police K-9, had been left in a patrol  car by its handler and the officer returned to find the  suspect had started "to torment the police dog by barking  and shouting at the animal," the Kalamazoo (Mich.) Gazette reported Thursday. The shouting caused the canine to become "excited and very aggressive," the report said. The man was arrested on suspicion of harassing a police animal and also faces a disorderly conduct charge. The suspect
was released after posting bond.

THE HORRORS OF ANIMAL HOARDING

The Lost Keys

Our dog Cricket, shown here relaxing on my desk supervising my work, is a bit of an odd little girl.

The other day Cricket walked into the room with a dog food kibble in her nose and a Milk Bone treat stuck under her collar. My wife asked, "What's that all about?"

I replied, "I don't think she's eating properly."

We took her out boating with us on the river last weekend. All of a sudden she jumped out of the boat and swam head first into a cement wall.

"Dam," I said.

I took a picture of her but my wife said it didn't do her justice. I told Alison I wasn't going for justice, I was going for mercy.

I'm not saying she's ugly, but when she was a puppy we had to tie a steak around her neck to get other dogs to play with her. We had to stop when our neighbor changed his locks.

The other night I told Cricket to fetch my slippers and she brought me two banana peels. Oh well, she's a good dog just the same.

*DOG TIP*

If you're a woking pet mom or dad and you have to leave your dog home alone, please take note: All weekend your dog has spent time with his/her family and then you suddenly find themselves alone in an empty house.
You dog doesn't know what to do for himself. His world is turned upside down.
Good exercise in the AM, a favorite toy and some music left on will help to soothe your furbaby. Be extra attentive on Monday mornings, also.

*CAT TIP*

Has your veterinarian diagnosed your cat with allergies? Is she itching and licking her skin a lot? You may consider decreasing the amount of chemical agents you use in your home. Use carpet powders, carpet sprays and room deodorizers sparingly. Launder your pet's bedding in natural soap and avoid drier sheets.
